About the Office of Institutional Effectiveness (OIE)
OIE was created in November of 2013 under the leadership of Dr. David Johnson, Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs. The office leads university-wide activities related to strategic planning, policy, and assessment. Additionally, the office supports the planning and assessment efforts of all academic and administrative units at the University of South Alabama. Lastly, the office maintains and supports university-wide data collection systems: tracdat and Class Climate. If you have any questions, please email us at effectiveness@southalabama.edu.

The University of South Alabama’s Office of Institutional Effectiveness (OIE) leads the institution’s effort to be the most effective higher education institution that it can.  To that end, OIE is committed to meaningful planning, assessment and use of data that support the academic success of all students and the effective functioning of all administrative and academic units.  We provide the structure, expertise, and professional development necessary to enable all academic and administrative units to use information that drives decisions, fosters continuous improvement, and adds value to their short- and long-term planning and budgeting processes. - See more at: http://www.southalabama.edu/departments/institutionaleffectiveness/mission.html#sthash.ZaJqdiGi.dpuf
