Goodwill Easter Seals of the Gulf Coast is partnering with the University of South Alabama to commemorate the University’s 50th Anniversary with the 2012 Goodwill Easter Seals “Christmas on the Coast” ornament, the 18th in the organization’s annual series.

The limited edition ornament will depict USA’s newest landmark, Moulton Tower and Alumni Plaza. The structure has become an icon of the University’s campus since it was dedicated in 2010. “B” Sumrall, known for her paintings featuring landmarks in Mobile and Baldwin counties, designed the ornament’s artwork.

Since 1994, Goodwill Easter Seals has sold Christmas ornaments depicting the history and landmarks of Mobile and the Gulf Coast as one of its annual fund-raising projects.

Ten thousand of the ornaments will go on sale Oct. 1 at a cost of $12 each.

Prior Goodwill Easter Seals ornaments have depicted such iconic local images as Mobile’s Mardi Gras celebration, the Pensacola Lighthouse and the Cannon at the Loop, among others.
