Facilities

The main office of the Department of Psychology, as well as most faculty offices, classrooms, and laboratory space, are located in the Life Sciences Building. Of particular interest to graduate students are the 2 computerized cognitive testing rooms and the flight simulation lab located on the 3rd floor of the Life Sciences Building, and the 10 station departmental computer lab located on the 2nd floor of the Life Sciences Building. The Department also has an EEG/ERP laboratory and social interaction laboratory located on the 3rd floor of the Life Sciences Building.

The Psychological Clinic is a teaching clinic operated by the Department which allows for close supervision of graduate students as they provide out-patient assessment, treatment and referral services to a broad array of clients from the Mobile and University communities. In addition, the Psychological Clinic supports clinical research. The facilities of the clinic include an extensive test library, student work area, faculty offices, and videotape, computer, and biofeedback equipment.

The numerous public and private agencies which provide mental health services to the Mobile community provide additional opportunity for clinical students to observe a wide range of clients.

Coming Soon

The Department of Psychology is scheduled to move to another location on campus within the next several years. The move to this new location will double the size of the Psychology Department increasing the available research space and providing space for graduate student offices. In addition this move will locate the Psychology Department adjacent to the Psychological Clinic. This is a move that is not only eagerly anticipated but needed for growth in the department.
