The School of Continuing Education and Special Programs serves young people and area adults in both credit and non-credit courses, as well as corporate clients and their conference needs. We are proud to provide the resources for continuous learning to citizens of the Greater Gulf Coast through the efforts of our seven divisions.

Online Degree Completion Program
The Department of Interdisciplinary Studies now has an online degree completion
program. Interdisciplinary Studies students who have met all general education
requirements can complete their degree requirements through distance education.
Students work closely with departmental advisors to identify disciplines that
offer online courses. The online degree completion program combines the best of
traditional, face-to-face courses and distance education by providing the flexibility of

Faculty Spotlight
Prior to joining the department as assistant professor in 2010,
Dr. Manders served as faculty member and coordinator of
an interdisciplinary program
with the Institute on Human
Development and Disability:
A University Center of Excellence at the University
of Georgia. She assumed the
role of chair of the department in June, 2011.
Having grown up in Daphne and completing her BS
at Springhill College, Dr, Manders is delighted to be
back home and is proud to be chairing a department
that is getting much attention. The Chronicle of Higher
Education (2010) listed Interdisciplinary Studies as in
the top twenty majors nationally and Interdisciplinary
Studies was the fastest-growing major at USA in 2010.
