Ed Bunnell Adult Degree Program Scholarship


The Ed Bunnell Scholarship is an endowed fund that was created to recognize the contributions of Dr. Ed Bunnell, the first Dean of the School of Continuing Education and Special Programs, toward promoting adult learning and continuing education at the University of South Alabama. Dr. Bunnell had a passion for helping hard-working, bright adult students achieve their educational goals. The scholarship is awarded each fall and spring semester to an Adult Degree Program student who has demonstrated persistence and academic achievement.


To qualify for the Ed Bunnell Scholarship, students must meet the following criteria:

  1. Declared major in the Interdisciplinary Studies Adult Degree Program;
  2. Cumulative USA grade point average of 3.0 with a minimum of 12 semester hours completed at USA;
  3. Completion of the AIS 101 or 301 foundation course.

To be considered for the Ed Bunnell Scholarship, students must submit the Ed Bunnell Scholarship Application along with an essay and letter of recommendation from a USA faculty member (see application for further details).


Scholarship application deadlines are as follows:

  • Spring semester: 1st Friday in April
  • Fall semester: 1st Friday in November

Interdisciplinary Endowed Scholarship


The Interdisciplinary Endowed Scholarship is an award to be given to a student at the University of South Alabama who demonstrates high academic achievement in Interdisciplinary Studies with an emphasis on the Study Abroad program.

 

To qualify for the Interdisciplinary Endowed Scholarship, students must meet the following criteria:


  1. Declared major in the Interdisciplinary Studies Program in School of Continuing Education
  2. Emphasis on the Study Abroad Program

To be considered for the Interdisciplinary Endowed Scholarship, students must submit the Interdisciplinary Endowed Scholarship Application. along with an essay and letter of recommendation from a USA faculty member (see application for further details).


Scholarship application deadlines are as follows:

  • Spring semester: 1st Friday in April
  • Fall semester: 1st Friday in November

Thomas Corcoran Scholarship in Interdisciplinary Studies Adult Degree Program


The Thomas Corcoran Endowed Scholarship in Interdisciplinary Studies Adult Degree Program is an award given to adult students who are attempting to obtain a college degree.

 

To qualify for the Thomas Corcoran Scholarship, students must meet the following criteria:


  1. An adult student attempting to obtain a college degree
  2. Maintain a minimum of 3.0 or greater GPA
  3. Registered for a minimum of ½ course load

To be considered for the Interdisciplinary Endowed Scholarship, students must submit the Thomas Corcoran Scholarship Application.along with an essay and letter of recommendation from a USA faculty member (see application for further details).


Scholarship application deadlines are as follows:

  • Spring semester: 1st Friday in April
  • Fall semester: 1st Friday in November
