Dr. Julio Turrens, professor of biomedical sciences at the University of South Alabama, has been named associate dean of the College of Allied Health Professions.
Turrens has enjoyed a long and distinguished research and teaching career at USA, having published more than 90 articles and 29 abstracts in scientific journals and books. He has served as assistant to the dean and graduate coordinator since 1998 and was a major contributor in the development of the USA Undergraduate Research Program and the interdisciplinary master's degree program in Environmental Toxicology.
“We are fortunate to have someone of Julio's experience and capability to serve in this capacity, and I am sure you will join me in welcoming him to his new position,” Dr. Richard Talbott, dean of the College of Allied Health Professions, said to fellow faculty members. |
