Two new student media leaders were recently named for the University of South Alabama’s student newspaper, The Vanguard, and USA’s television station, Jag TV.
Matthew Peterson, a senior, will be The Vanguard’s editor-in-chief for the 2009-2010 academic year.
Peterson is from Spanish Fort, Ala., and is a history and philosophy major. He is the recipient of the Mark of Excellence Awards presented by the Society of Professional Journalists. He won second place in general column writing. Peterson is the son of Thomas and Karen Peterson.
Tinashe Nyatanga, from Harare, Zimbabwe, will be the general manager for Jag TV. He is a junior communication major concentrating in radio, television and film. He will begin his second year as the general manger of Jag TV for the 2009-2010 academic year. He is the son of Martin and Molly Nytanga. |
