During the first half of the workshop, educators will participate in a guided motor
coach tour of the Dora Franklin Finley African-American Heritage Trail, which will
enhance their lifelong understanding of the African-Americans' role in Mobile history.
During the second half of the workshop, educators will visit the USA Archaeology Museum
to see the History Matters exhibit, where they will receive an overview of the exhibit
and be presented with information on how to book school field trips, as well as, hands-on
educational materials to use in their classrooms. These experiences are designed to
provide educators with learning
opportunities that will enhance their curriculum and help bring history to life for
their students, and is an excellent tie-in with Black History Month. Box lunches will
be provided. Educators will earn 4 CEUs through the South Alabama Regional Inservice
