Dr. Stephanie HulonDr. Stephanie Hulon has been named the new Director of the South Alabama Regional Inservice Center (SARIC) and will begin her duties on December 3, 2018. SARIC serves over 8,000 educators in the Baldwin County Schools, Chickasaw City Schools, Clarke County Schools, Mobile County Schools, Monroe County Schools, Saraland City Schools, Satsuma City Schools, Thomasville City Schools, and Washington County Schools.

Dr. Hulon has served in the field of education for the last 18 years. During this time, she has worked in a variety of roles including classroom teacher, school administrator, instructional designer, associate professor of education, and curriculum leader. In each role, she has worked to support administrators and teachers in designing, developing, and implementing high-quality, learner-centered instruction powered by technology. She has a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood and Elementary Education, a Masters in Educational Leadership, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Instructional Design and Development. Her research interests include teachers viewing themselves as instructional designers, the training and professional development that supports teachers as instructional designers, technology integration by teachers, and the role of educational technology in schools and classrooms. Her dissertation focused on training teachers in instructional design principles and the impact that training has on the integration of learner-centered lessons supported by technology. She continuously shares her research through publications and presentations on a local, state, national, and international level.
