NPCSI: Post-Graduate Certificate Emergency NP

All students in the Post-Graduate Certificate Emergency NP specialty are required to attend two* mandatory on-campus Clinical Skills Intensives (CSI) provided by the USA Simulation Program.  

The first phase clinical skills intensive provides hands-on instruction for common advanced practice assessments and procedures pertinent to the emergency scope of practice.  Students will attend when enrolled in NU 572/573. The second phase includes simulation scenarios and standardized patient encounters to demonstrate clinical skills for evaluation prior to completing the program. Students will attend when enrolled in NU 576/577.

Students must sign-up to attend one session for each phase and can select their preferred dates on a first come, first serve basis. Simulation will contact students with information via JagMail on how to sign-up three months prior to the scheduled dates.

Please note the dates are for Clinical Skills Intensives only. The track coordinator may provide orientation dates, which are separate from CSI and Simulation.

Emergency NP Phase 1 Clinical Skills Intensive Dates 2025:

  • Session 1 - February 4-6, 2025
  • Session 2 - February 11-13, 2025
  • Session 3 - February 18-20, 2025

Emergency NP Phase 1 Clinical Skills Intensive Dates 2026:

  • Session 1 - February 3-5, 2026
  • Session 2 - February 10-12, 2026
  • Session 3 - February 18-20, 2026

Emergency NP Phase 2 (Check-Off) Clinical Skills Intensive Dates 2025:

  • Session 1 - October 27-28, 2025
  • Session 2 - October 29-30, 2025
  • Session 3 - November 3-4, 2025
  • Session 4 - November 5-6, 2025
  • Session 5 - November 10-11, 2025

Emergency NP Phase 2 (Check-Off) Clinical Skills Intensive Dates 2026:

  • TBD

*Students delaying progression during their specialty courses should reference the Clinical Skills Intensive Policy located in their College of Nursing admission packet to see additional requirements related to CSI.
