Dr. Susan Gordon-Hickey Named Fellow of the Association of Schools Advancing Health Professions data-lightbox='featured'

Dr. Susan Gordon-Hickey, interim dean of the Pat Capps Covey College of Allied Health Professions, was recently inducted as a Fellow by the Association of Schools Advancing Health Professions. This award is presented each year to association members who have contributed significantly to health professions through research, education, administration and clinical practice.

“It is an honor to be inducted as a 2022 Fellow of the Association of Schools Advancing Health Professions. Induction as a Fellow recognizes an individual for a record of demonstrated leadership and significant contributions in health professions education. It is both humbling and a huge honor that academic leaders across the nation have recognized my leadership and contributions to health professions education,” Dr. Gordon-Hickey shared.

The Association of Schools Advancing Health Professions recognized numerous higher education health professionals at its annual conference on Oct. 19-21. The recipients were recognized for their leadership, contributions and excellence in the fields of health sciences and health professions.

“I am grateful for this award and look forward to continuing to work to advance the health professions and health professions education so that we continue to have a positive impact on the health and well-being of those that we serve,” Dr. Gordon-Hickey said.

Dr. Gordon-Hickey earned both her Clinical Doctorate in Audiology and Ph.D. in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of South Alabama. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences Disorders from the University of Florida. Dr. Gordon-Hickey is the secretary of the Association of the Schools Advancing the Health Professions and serves on the Council of Academic Accreditation for Speech-Pathology and Audiology.
