Erin Lunn McAdams Named Chair of Physician Assistant Studies Department

Erin Lunn McAdams has been named chair of the Department of Physician Assistant Studies for the Pat Capps Covey College of Allied Health Professions.
McAdams joined the department in 2015 and has served in several leadership roles including her most recent position as interim chair and program director for the department. She previously held the role of director of clinical education.
"As I step into the role of program director for PA Studies, I am filled with immense excitement and passion for the opportunity to support and guide the next generation of healthcare providers,” McAdams shared. “I am eager to continue working alongside a dedicated team, ensuring that every student receives the knowledge, skills and inspiration they need to succeed in their careers and make a meaningful impact in medicine."
McAdams has worked in various healthcare settings, including integrated primary care for Veterans Recovery Resources and rural family medicine. She has also served as a physician assistant in the United States Army Reserves and Army National Guard.
“Ms. McAdams brings extensive experience and a strong dedication to advancing our programs and supporting the next generation of healthcare providers,” Dr. Susan Gordon-Hickey, dean of the Covey College of Allied Health Professions, said.
McAdams earned a Master of Health Science degree and a bachelor’s degree in biomedical sciences from the University of South Alabama.
Her work has resulted in various published articles, book chapters and numerous presentations at national and international conferences on topics such as trauma-informed care, interprofessional education and veteran-focused healthcare.
“Ms. McAdams has a strong vision for the Department of Physician Assistant Studies and its programs, and she is well-regarded for her leadership, innovation and commitment to student success,” Gordon-Hickey shared.
