On Saturday, June 18 from 12:30-4:30 p.m., University of South Alabama professor Brian
Axsmith will take students inside the forests of Alabama, exploring its rich fossil
history. "From Ferns to Flowers to Fossils - Ancient Forests of Alabama" is a Certificate
in Native Plant Studies elective that studies the history of Alabama's biodiversity,
which ranks fifth nationally, and how it has evolved to become what it is today.
