Katherine Koury
BIO
Katherine Koury is a Senior Instructor at the University of South Alabama (USA), where she has been teaching in the Department of Communication for 17 years. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and a Master of Arts in Corporate and Public Communication, both from USA. Koury teaches introduction to communication, argumentation, public speaking (basic and honors), interpersonal communication, intercultural communication, and rhetoric & pop culture. Additionally, she also teaches for Passage USA (a certificate program for developmentally disabled students to achieve gainful employment) and Start South (a dual enrollment program for high school students).
Koury is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Rhetorics, Communication, and Information Design from Clemson University. She has four adult children, 11-year-old twins, and one grandchild. In her leisure time, she enjoys spending time with family, attending various cultural events/festivals, traveling, reading, eating tacos, and napping.
