MS in Marine Science
The Stokes School of Marine & Environmental Sciences offers at-large fellowships to
MS students annually on a competitive basis. In addition, there are a variable number
of research assistantships that are sponsored by externally funded grants and contracts.
The current stipend for MS students is $17,000 per year. Additional funding for tuition
fellowship may also be available through extramural grants. Prospective students must
submit applications by February 1 to receive consideration for at-large fellowships
to the Stokes School of Marine & Environmental Sciences.
Ph.D. in Marine Science
The Stokes School of Marine & Environmental Sciences offers at-large fellowships to
Ph.D. students annually on a competitive basis. In addition, there are a variable
number of doctoral assistantships that are sponsored by externally funded grants and
contracts to faculty. The current stipend for Ph.D. fellowships is $20,000 per year
plus a tuition fellowship and waiver of out-of-state fees. Prospective students must
submit applications by February 1 to receive consideration for at-large fellowships.
A limited number of graduate assistantships are allocated to the department by the Graduate School. These assistantships are awarded on a competitive basis by the department.
