Teaching Philosophy
I believe strongly that education is a solution to many of our world's problems. I am an advocate for students and student learning. Embracing the concept of life-long learning, I enjoy learning with my students.
Research
My research interests include gender and leadership, online teaching and learning, global education, and higher education administration. I am engaged in ongoing research documenting the contributions of Catholic sisters to public higher education.
Outreach
I have served as Chair for the Research on Women and Education special interest group of the American Educational Research Association and as an editorial review board member for the Journal for the Study of Postsecondary and Tertiary Education.
Locally I have served as a volunteer for the Alabama School of Math and Science, Mobile County Public School System, Feeding the Gulf Coast, and the MLK Day of Service.
