Double Jackpot: Dr. Hair Wins Two Awards
Posted on January 22, 2021 by MCOB Outreach
Dr. Joseph Hair, distinguished professor of marketing and director of the USA Mitchell College of Business Ph.D. program, has been announced as the 2020 recipient of both Phi Kappa Phi’s Lifetime Achievement Award and the South Alabama National Alumni Association’s Olivia Rambo McGlothren National Alumni Association Outstanding Scholar Award. This is an outstanding honor as both organizations observe substantial amounts of competition each year for these awards. The South Alabama National Alumni Association was founded in 1974 shortly after the University and continues to grow as a means to showcase USA and connect alumni to campus. Established in 1897, Phi Kappa Phi is the nation’s oldest and most prestigious honor society in academia today. The group was formed by ten students in Maine and has continued to grow since its inception under the motto, "Let the love of learning rule humanity.”
As a lifelong embodiment of sharing his love of learning, Hair is certainly deserving
of such acknowledgments from the USA Alumni Association and Phi Kappa Phi. Hair is
globally recognized for his work in marketing, multivariate data analysis, and research
methods and has received standing in the top 1 percent globally of all business and
economics professors by Clarivate Analytics for the last three consecutive years.
Since the University of South Alabama Mitchell College of Business welcomed Hair in
August 2016, he has worked with excellence and diligence in the classroom and research
settings, and as an executive education and management training consultant for a wide
range of companies. As a result, the Mitchell College of Business graduate programs
continue to flourish and grow with a new Ph.D concentration in Data Analytics now
offered under his leadership; students and professionals around the country are flocking
to work under Hair’s guidance as the Mitchell College of Business continues to expand.
