Greetings, and welcome to our monthly newsletter, the Mobile Bay Economic Snapshot. Our newest publication is the result of many months of planning and working toward fulfilling one of our key strategic initiatives: becoming a primary data and education resource for our region’s professionals, business owners, nonprofits, and governmental entities. It is a robust compilation of key regional and national business and economic data presented in a visually dynamic, contextually significant format, complemented by commentary and insights from our staff, Mitchell College of Business faculty, and invited guests.
The national data we present is all publicly available, yet for many, finding and interpreting it can often be challenging. Municipal governments throughout Mobile and Baldwin Counties supply much of our local and regional data, and we are truly grateful for the cooperative spirit we encountered from the many staff members who helped us. We are hopeful that others in the region will see the potential value proposition we offer and will work with us in the future by providing access to their data.
The information contained in this newsletter is also available on our website. You are welcome to reproduce any of our charts or graphs as pdf files, or download them as jpeg files for use in your presentations and reports. All that we ask is that you recognize us as your information source. Going forward, we will continue working on improvements, adding new features, and tracking new data points. We would appreciate your suggestions for ways we can enhance our output and delivery.
