USA Symphony Band Fall Concert November 10 at Laidlaw

USA Symphony Band Concert

The University of South Alabama Symphony Band will perform in concert Monday, November 10 under the direction of Dr. Michael Phillips, Associate Director of Bands. The program, which will take place in the Recital Hall of the Laidlaw Performing Arts Center, features music that reflects the "Changing of the Seasons," including selections that bring in the holiday colors and spirit. The literature includes In the Bleak Mid-Winter (Holst), Sussex Mummers Christmas Carol (Grainger), Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring (Bach), Polonaise from Rimsky-Korsakov's Christmas Eve Opera, Debussy's Engulfed Cathedral, and Shostakovich's spirited Galop. The performance will also feature guest conductor Dr. Greg Gruner, chair of the Department of Music.

Tickets for this Musical Arts Series event will be sold at the door only. Admission is $8 general and $5 for USA faculty & staff, USA students, youths under 18 and all senior citizens (cash or check only). (Pass Holders only please! Held seats not claimed within 20 minutes of the performance may be offered to other concert attendees.)
