USA Piano Camp Faculty Recitals and Concerts June 15-19

The 2015 USA Piano Camp recitals and concerts, presented by the Department of Music,
will take place June 15-19 daily at 3:00 p.m. in the Laidlaw Performing Arts Center.
This year's USA Piano Camp features mostly the music of Russian composers. Faculty
recitals will be given as part of the Workshop daily Monday-Thursday, and faculty
performers will include camp director and USA Faculty Robert Holm, USA Faculty Jasmin
Arakawa, Guest Faculty James Helton, and Guest Faculty Axel Lenarduzzi. General admission
is $5 for all the faculty concerts. The student recital on Friday, June 19, is free
and open to the public. All recitals will be presented at the Laidlaw Recital Hall.

The Concerts
Monday, June 15 at 3:00 p.m. -- Camp Director and USA Faculty Robert Holm performs
the Prokofiev Sonata No. 7, Stravinsky's Three Movements from Petrushka, and Mussorgsky's
Pictures at an Exhibition. ($5 admission, cash or check only)
Tuesday, June 16, at 3:00 p.m. -- Guest Faculty James Helton performs Glazunov's
Theme and Variations op. 72, portions of Scriabin's Vers la flame, a Sonata by Stravinsky,
and York Bowen's F Minor Sonata. ($5 admission, cash or check only)
Wednesday, June 17, at 3:00 p.m. -- USA Faculty Jasmin Arakawa performs a eclectic
mix of composers, including Beethoven's "Appassionata" Sonata, Scriabin's Sonata No.
3, and music by Smetana and Chopin. ($5 admission, cash or check only)
Thursday, June 18, at 3:00 p.m. -- Guest Faculty Axel Lenarduzzi performs Rachmaninoff's
Prelude and Etude-Tableaux, Debussy's Suite Bergamasca, and Tchaikovsky's Second Piano
Sonata. ($5 admission, cash or check only)
Friday, June 19, at 3:00 p.m. -- Students participating in USA's Piano Camp will perform
in the Piano Camp Finale Concert. (There is no admission fee for the Student Participant
Recital.)
Tickets for these Department of Music event will be sold at the door only. General
admission is $5 for all attendees other than Piano Workshop participants. (There
is no admission fee for the Student Participant Recital on June 6.) MAS passes will
be honored for these concerts. Persons needing more information about this event
