All of the works on the program for the evening have a connection to the realm of fantasy!

About the concert
The program will open with Bohnet’s haunting arrangement of “The Mist Covered Mountain/The Druid’s Spell," two traditional Irish tunes shrouded in mystery. Following that, Dr. Arakawa will join Bohnet in Yuko Uébayashi’s "A Romance of Orcia," a piece which depicts the beauty of the Val d’Orcia in Tuscany, a UNESCO Heritage Site. The first half of the program will conclude with “Dragon Flight” by Howard Buss.
The second half of the program will begin with the Silverwood Quartet and Bohnet’s arrangement of “Over the Sea to Skye,” the theme to the hit TV series “Outlander.” “The Gathering: An Unexpected Party” by Christopher Duncan for flute and guitar will follow. This work was written for Bohnet and depicts the adventures of Bilbo Baggins as his cozy hobbit hole is invaded by a company of dwarves. The Silverwood Quartet will retake the stage for Bohnet’s arrangement of the “Lord of the Rings Suite: Concerning Hobbits/In Dreams/May it Be.” The program will conclude with Rhonda Larson’s ”The Way of the River” with Drs. Bohnet. Arakawa and Rivera.
