The USA Percussion Ensemble competed in the 2nd annual Concert Chamber Percussion Ensemble Competition last week at the 2015 Percussive Arts Society International Convention (PASIC) in San Antonio, Texas and took 2nd Place in the Collegiate Division. The USAPE performed "Farfalle Cotte" by Marc Mellits and "Vicious Children" by Wally Gunn. USA senior Music Education major, Ryan Boehme, also competed in the Marching Solo Snare Drum Competition and took 3rd Place in the Collegiate Division. Ryan composed a 3-minute marching snare drum solo to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the convention.

PASIC is the world's largest international percussion event that occurs every November in the United States. Thousands of percussionists, pedagogues, clinicians, composers, and students attend the convention each year making it the largest platform for performers in the percussion world.
