"The Flute in Nature" - USA Flute Studio Recital February 4

Flute Studio Recital
The USA Flute Studio will present “The Flute in Nature” on Thursday, February 4 at 7:30 p.m. in the USA Laidlaw Performing Arts Center Recital Hall. Dr. Andra Bohnet and her students, with pianist Dr. Jasmin Arakawa, will present a variety of works invoking natural elements like the wind, rain and sun as well as pastorale scenes from Switzerland and Hungary. In addition, the organic flute traditions of the Native American and Irish cultures will be highlighted. The concert will conclude with a tribute to the flute of Pan, the mythical god of the wild and his roles as shepherd, and companion to nymphs. Students performing include Nicole Carrion, Bayleigh Cook, Alicia Daniels, Emily Denison, Elizabeth Holmes, Rebecca Reinhardt, Brianna Smith, Natalie Talley and Heather Trinh.
