Richard Henson, Guest Artist World Percussion Concert March 25

The USA World Music Ensemble is proud to host Mr. Richard Henson in concert on Friday, March 25, 2016 in the Laidlaw Performing Arts Center. Mr. Henson is the Coordinator of Percussion Studies at Southern Adventist University and a part-time instructor at Lee University where he specializes in world percussion, specifically hand drums and frame drums from the Middle East, Africa, and Asia. Mr. Henson will spend the day teaching master classes and rehearsing with USA percussion students before performing a solo recital entirely of world percussion instruments. The concert will close with a premiere of Henson's latest composition for jaltarang soloist (an Indian percussion instrument) and percussion ensemble, accompanied by members of the USA World Music Ensemble. Mr. Henson's appearance is sponsored by Innovative Percussion and the USA Student Government Association.
Tickets for this Musical Arts Series event will be sold at the door only. Admission is $8 general and $5 for USA faculty & staff, USA students, youths under 18 and all senior citizens (cash or check only).
