Posted on October 24, 2016 by Keith Bohnet
The USA Percussion Ensemble will present their Fall Concert on Monday, October 31
at 7:30 p.m. and repeat that performance on Tuesday, November 1 at 7:30 p.m. in the
Laidlaw Performing Arts Center Recital Hall. The award-winning ensemble provides students
with the opportunity to perform and become familiar with the ever-growing volume of
contemporary percussion ensemble literature. This concert will feature solo and ensemble
works for many different combinations of pitched and unpitched percussion instruments.
The ensemble is directed by Dr. Luis Rivera, Director of Percussion Studies.
Highlights of past performances by the Percussion Ensemble include the Percussive
Arts Society International Conference in Indianapolis and San Antonio, the Collide
Music Festival at the University of Central Florida, and multiple appearances at the
Alabama Day of Percussion. The USAPE presents public performances, clinic sessions,
and hosts internationally renowned musicians each year.
