DayZero Advances to SECCDC Regional
Posted on February 17, 2023 by Keith Lynn
Members of the DayZero student organization participated in a virtual qualifier for the Southeast Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition (SECCDC) on February 11th and ranked in the top 8 teams which competed. They earned a spot in the regional competition held onsite at Kennesaw State University on March 8-9. Over 30 universities from Georgia, Alabama, Florida, Tennessee, South Carolina, and North Carolina competed in the qualifier, which pitted student teams managing a fictional corporate network and systems against red-team attackers. Winning the regional would earn the DayZero team a spot at the National Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition held in San Antonio, TX. For more information about SECCDC, you can visit https://www.seccdc.org/. Special thanks go to Mr. Roger Cruz, who served as a local white team judge for the qualifier.
DayZero is a USA student organization, sponsored by the Center for Forensics, Information Technology, and Security (CFITS), dedicated to furthering cybersecurity knowledge and skills through participation in regional and international cyber competitions and capture-the-flag events.
