Recently, members of the DayZero cyber competition club participated in a virtual qualifier for the Southeast Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition (SECCDC) which is held annually at Kennesaw State University. 33 universities from Georgia, Alabama, Florida, Tennessee, South Carolina, and North Carolina all competed in order gain an invitation to the onsite regional competition which will be held in April. USA’s DayZero team earned a spot among the top 8 teams to receive an invitation to the regional onsite. The competition itself pits students who are managing real computer systems and networks in a corporate business context against a red team of attackers that is trained to infiltrate those systems. This is USA’s fourth year competing in SECCDC and our second year to move forward to the final round at Kennesaw. For more information about SECCDC, click here. The team also wishes to thank Phillip Peterson, a local CTS employee, who served again as a white team judge during the qualifier competition.

DayZero is a USA student organization dedicated to furthering cybersecurity knowledge and skills through participation in regional and international cyber competitions and capture the flag events. For more information about the club, click here
