Hassan Aziz, a senior Computer Science major, is spending his summer as an intern at Airbus. He landed the internship after attending an information event at Shelby Hall. Hassan is working as a cybersecurity analyst on a cyber awareness campaign, which involves writing weekly reports for internal communications. Additionally, he is assisting with the installation of the TYREX USB decontamination stations and Octoplant at the local factory.

Hassan shared his experience, stating, “I have strengthened my project management and communication skills by participating in multiple projects and promoting awareness/communications. I spent my first few weeks learning about the Airbus project management methodology and the importance of stakeholder engagement. In doing so, I gained an understanding of industry-standard cybersecurity frameworks and guidelines.” Hassan attributes his successful transition into the “real-world” work environment to the software development class taught by Dr. Benton and the Networking and Communications class taught by Mrs. Stacey. He learned project management methodologies such as Waterfall and Scrum. Hassan's advice to underclassmen is to get more involved in organizations and to improve communication and networking skills. While emphasizing the importance of excelling in classwork and grades, Hassan highlights the equal importance of networking in person and through LinkedIn to open up new opportunities.
