The Information Systems degree centers on developing systems to improve people's performance in organizations. Information systems are vital to problem identification, analysis, and decision-making at all levels of management. IS professionals must analyze the evolving role of information and organizational processes. Students learn about numerous uses of technology in organizational settings while taking a detailed look into computing systems and how to use them to solve problems. South's IS program blends information technology, business, and interpersonal skills.

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics projects that employment in computer and information technology occupations will grow 11% from 2019 to 2029, much faster than the average for all occupations, adding 531,200 new jobs.
