Motivating Academics for Growth, Innovation and Collaboration (MAGIC) in STEM: A Regional Faculty Learning Community

Faculty Learning Communities composed of STEM faculty from the University of South Alabama, Bishop State Community College, Coastal Alabama Community College, and Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College.

The Faculty Learning Communities will

  • Conduct a systematic review of the current literature on inclusive teaching practices in STEM education.
  • Identify at least one practice that could potentially improve the success rate for STEM students in this region and reduce the achievement gaps for students who show gaps in retention and graduation.

Project Timetable

FLC meetings: Spring 2025, Fall 2025, Spring 2026

Summer Institutes: June 2-6, 2025 and Summer 2026

Submit NSF:IUSE ICT Level 1 grant: January 2027
