U.S. News & World Report latest graduate school rankings listed nine of South's programs. It also ranked the Frederick P. Whiddon College of Medicine graduates highly in three separate categories.

USA graduate programs continue to be recognized as some of the nation’s best in U.S. News & World Report’s annual graduate school rankings.

This latest announcement comes two weeks after South’s occupational therapy, physical therapy and physician assistant studies graduate programs were recognized this year using the publication’s survey-based rankings by academic leaders at peer institutions.

The additions bring the total to 12 recognitions by the publication this year.

“The University of South Alabama continues to provide our students with world-class programs that allow them to pursue their academic goals. This latest national recognition only adds to the momentum of our University,” said Dr. Andi Kent, executive vice president and provost.

U.S. News & World Report ranked South’s programs in audiology, physician assistant studies, physical therapy, occupational therapy, earth sciences, speech-language pathology, computer science, psychology and biological sciences.

South also was ranked in the following categories: Most Graduates Practicing in Health Professional Shortage Areas; Most Graduates Practicing in Primary Care; and Most Graduates Practicing in Rural Areas.

"This ranking reflects the strength of our programs, the dedication of our exceptional graduate faculty, their talented students and our ongoing commitment to excellence and innovation,” said Dr. Harold Pardue, dean of the Graduate School.
