The Office of Greek Life at the University of South Alabama honored sorority and fraternity members for outstanding service, leadership and academic achievement at the recent 2018-2019 Greek Awards Banquet.

"The impact of the combined hours and value contributed in service by our Greek community for the 2018-2019 academic year was truly amazing,” said Assistant Director of Fraternity and Sorority Life Cathi Jones. “When you look at the valued rate of $22.28 per hour, our Greek community’s total economic value for philanthropic hours is almost $650,000 with over 100 agencies impacted through our contributions. We are giving back in a big way!"

The awards ceremony recognized the fraternities and sororities who are members of the Interfraternity (IFC), College Panhellenic (CPC) and National Pan-Hellenic (NPHC) councils for their academics, membership, service and campus involvement.

Numerous awards were presented, highlighted by the Dean’s Cup, which is the highest honor given to Greek-letter organizations at South. The recipients for the 2018-2019 year are Chi Omega of CPC, Alpha Phi Alpha of NPHC and Sigma Chi of IFC.
