2024 Greek Awards Celebrates Fraternities and Sororities

The University of South Alabama’s Office of Greek Life recently held the 2023-24 USA Greek Awards Ceremony to honor fraternity and sorority members for their community involvement, academics and leadership achievements. The annual awards ceremony recognizes the fraternities and sororities who are members of the Inter-Fraternity Council, College Panhellenic Council and National Pan-Hellenic Council for their accomplishments.
“From the information reported by our chapters, at a valued rate of $29.17 per hour, our Greek community’s total economic value for philanthropic hours is almost $758,316.24, with over 100 agencies impacted through our contributions,” said Jordan Carter, assistant director of fraternity and sorority life. “This is an increase of $60,612.43 since last year.”
Greek Award Winners:
- The overall winner of the Intramural Sports Award was presented to Sigma Chi Fraternity, Eta Epsilon chapter, and the Kappa Delta Sorority, Delta Sigma chapter.
- The College Panhellenic Council Outstanding New Member of the Year was awarded to Aynelise Vickery of Chi Omega Fraternity, Beta Theta chapter. The Inter-Fraternity Council New Member of the Year was awarded to Luke Sparkman of the Kappa Alpha Order, Epsilon Alpha chapter. The Outstanding National Pan-Hellenic Council Neophyte of the Year was awarded to DeAndre Hill of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc., and Kendaisha Brown of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc.
- The Inter-Fraternity Council Greek Man of the Year was awarded to Huu Nguyen of Sigma Chi, Eta Epsilon chapter. The NPHC Greek Man of the Year was awarded to Arthur Cox Jr. of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc.
- The Panhellenic Greek Woman of the Year was awarded to Andrea Vavrinek of Phi Mu, Kappa Omega chapter. The NPHC Greek Woman of the Year was awarded to Kaitlyn Riggins of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
- The National Pan-Hellenic Council Service Award winner was the Epsilon Upsilon chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. The Inter-Fraternity Council Service Award winner was the Kappa Sigma chapter of Alpha Tau Omega. The College Panhellenic Council Service Award is named the Daisy Ann Keeton Award, and the winner was the Gamma Delta chapter of Alpha Omicron Pi.
- The National Pan-Hellenic Council Campus Involvement Award winner was the Theta Delta chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. The Inter-Fraternity Council Campus Involvement Award winner was Alpha Tau Omega, Kappa Sigma chapter. The College Panhellenic Council Campus Involvement Award winner was Chi Omega Fraternity, Beta Theta chapter.
