Nicholas Sheppard, a sponsored project analyst in the University of South Alabama's Office of Research and Economic Development, has been selected to the Society of Research Administrators International’s Future of the Field’ program.

Applicants from around the globe were evaluated on career history, demonstration of exceptional professional growth and significant contributions made to the advancement of research administration.

“This recognition is incredibly meaningful and fuels my motivation to keep pushing to be the best I can be, both for myself and for others in the field,” Sheppard said.

Sheppard was nominated for the program by Dr. Matthew Reichert, assistant vice president for research, and Heather Wainwright, sponsored projects administration assistant director. Both Reichert and Wainwright are past winners of this award.

“The individuals recognized through Future of the Field are some of the best and brightest in our profession,” said Gloria W. Greene, Society of Research Administrators International president. “Embrace this recognition, believe in yourself and continue striving for excellence. The future is bright, and you are poised to make a remarkable impact in your field.”

Future of the Field honorees will be formally recognized at the Society of Research Administrators International’s annual meeting this October in Chicago.
