The University of South Alabama Student Academic Success, the Black Faculty and Staff Association and Second Year Experience will host the 2024 Student Success Summit.
The summit will be held during Week of Welcome on Aug. 19, from noon to 4:30 p.m. It will start at the Learning Commons on the first floor of the Marx Library and continue on the second floor of the Marx Library at the Center for Academic Excellence.
The Student Success Summit at South connects students with university resources while fostering meaningful relationships among students, faculty and staff. The keynote speaker will be South alumnus Clyde Higgs, a former USA Board of Trustees member who serves as president and CEO of Atlanta Beltline Inc.
“The Summit is designed to empower students by providing them with actionable strategies and essential resources to navigate their academic and personal lives,” said Autumn Courtney, Second-Year Experience coordinator and co-chair of the Student Success Summit planning committee. “By bringing together a diverse array of University departments and experienced professionals, the Summit offers a support system tailored to address the unique challenges students face as they progress through their academic journey.”
The Student Success Summit aims to provide students with the tools, knowledge and connections necessary to thrive academically, financially and personally as they earn their degrees at South.
This event supports services and resources provided by Student Academic Success at the University. Students are encouraged to register to attend the Summit.
