New Adaptation of Jane Austen Classic Begins Friday, Nov. 9

Theatre USA will present a new adaptation of Jane Austen’s classic, “Sense and Sensibility,” beginning Friday, Nov. 9, at 7:30 p.m.
The adaptation by Kate Hamill tells the story of Elinor and Marianne Dashwood, and their trials and travails after the death of their father.
Lars Tatom, chair of theatre and dance, will direct with a cast featuring students Colton Adams, Kayleigh Almodovar, Hamilton Brown, Rylee Chennault, Shane Colton, Troy Craig, Thomas Jefferson Deen IV, Madeline Girouard, Dori Lumpkin, Nicole Lusk, Morgan Umstead and Samantha Whitaker.
The production repeats Nov. 10 and Nov. 15-17 with curtain times at 7:30 p.m. There will also be a matinee at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 11. All performances will be on the main stage of USA’s Laidlaw Performing Arts Center.
