We practice what we teach. The clinic provides compassionate care grounded in the best available current research evidence to optimize function for all individuals. We provide opportunities for students to develop as movement specialists under the direct guidance of licensed physical therapists.

Physical Therapists

Dr. Burley
Troy Burley, PT, PhD

Dr. Burley currently serves as Assistant Professor in the USA Dept. of Physical Therapy.  He is a Board Certified Specialist in Orthopedic Physical Therapy, and is Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists.



Dr. Cahanin
Richie Cahanin PT, PhD

Dr. Cahanin has special interest in management of musculoskeletal disorders, particularly those involving the lower extremities.  He has over 10 years of clinical experience in a variety of clinical settings, most of which in an outpatient ambulatory setting.  He has worked with a variety of patient populations, from pediatric to geriatric and from the general population to athletes.  He holds a clinical certification in trigger point dry needling, which can be included as one intervention within a comprehensive plan of care.  His goal is to improve the health of the community by reducing injuries rates, restore the health of individuals through conservative techniques, and optimize the quality of life for all.  

Dr. Cahanin
Shawn Drake PT, PhD

Dr. Shawn Drake is a Professor of Physical Therapy at the USA Department of Physical Therapy. She specializes in scoliosis rehabilitation, utilizing Schroth-based physical therapy techniques and myofascial release. With 15 years of clinical experience in outpatient care, Dr. Drake has recently expanded her practice to include pelvic health physical therapy services.

Dr. Cahanin
Kevin Strehler PT, PhD

Dr. Strehler is an Assistant Professor of Physical Therapy in the USA Department of Physical Therapy. His primary focus is in orthopedic rehabilitation. He has 10 years of clinical experience in the outpatient orthopedic setting and primarily focuses on the independent management of conditions with an emphasis on self-management and education. He has additional training in the management of the injured athlete, post-concussion rehabilitation, and the provision of virtual physical therapy services. He currently serves as the coordinator of the faculty physical therapy clinic.
