Academic Achievement Awards (Graduate and Undergraduate): Sociology, Anthropology and Social Work

Awarded to graduating seniors with greater than 3.0 GPA

W. David Gartman Outstanding Sociology Student Award

$200 awarded each spring to the top senior sociology student(s) as determined by faculty committee taking into consideration GPA higher than 3.4 and commitment to the discipline, among other things.

Outstanding Anthropology Student Award

$200 awarded each spring to the top senior anthropology student(s) as determined by faculty committee taking into consideration GPA higher than 3.4 and commitment to the discipline, among other things.

Outstanding Social Work Student Award

$200 awarded each spring to the top senior social work student(s) as determined by faculty committee taking into consideration GPA higher than 3.4 and commitment to the discipline, among other things.

Outstanding Undergraduate Gerontology Student Award

$200 awarded each spring to the top gerontology student(s) as determined by a faculty committee.

Outstanding Graduate Gerontology Student Award

Sociology Student Paper Award

$100 awarded annually in the spring semester to the best student paper in sociology submitted for competition and judged by a faculty committee

Anthropology Student Paper Award

$100 awarded annually in the spring semester to the best student paper in sociology submitted for competition and judged by a faculty committee.

Social Work Student Paper Award

$100 awarded annually in the spring semester to the best student paper in sociology submitted for competition and judged by a faculty committee.

Sociology Graduate Student Paper Award

$100 awarded annually in the spring semester to the best student paper in sociology submitted for competition and judged by a faculty committee.

Christine Kilgore Holley Student Paper Award for Native American Research

$100 awarded annually in the spring semester to the best student paper addressing an issue related to American Indians submitted for completion and judged by a faculty committee.

Stovall Endowed Student Research Competition Award

$250 awarded annually in the spring semester to the outstanding Thesis or Dissertation related to Intergenerational Relationships in Families and/or Communities submitted for competition and judged by a faculty committee.

USA Foundation Sociology Scholarship (2)

$750 awarded annually in the spring semester to two rising junior or senior sociology majors in good academic standing based on GPA, academic performance, and an essay on career goals.

USA Foundation Anthropology Scholarship (2)

$750 awarded annually in the spring semester to two rising junior or senior anthropology majors in good academic standing based on GPA, academic performance, and an essay on career goals.

USA Foundation Social Work Scholarship (2)

$750 awarded annually in the spring semester to two rising junior or senior social work majors in good academic standing based on GPA, academic performance, and an essay on career goals.

USA Foundation Graduate Sociology Scholarship (1)

$2000 awarded annually in the spring semester to one rising graduate student in sociology in good academic standing based on GPA, academic performance, and an essay on career goals.

AHEPA 310 Senior Housing Scholarship Endowment Fund

A financial award presented annually in the spring semester to undergraduate students majoring in a field related to Life Course & Aging Studies in good academic standing based on GPA, academic performance, and an essay on career goals.
