The University of South Alabama Requirements for Graduate School
The National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) accredits all teacher education programs in the College of Education. The academic requirements for admission to the program include:
- A passing score on the Alabama Educator Certification Testing Program (AECTP/CORE)
- A Passing Score on the Praxis General Mathematics test.
- The pre-requisite coursework for an Academic major in mathematics, or an approved engineering or science major (such as physics) or 32 semester hours / 19 in upper division in mathematics courses.
All students interested in the PTM program MUST apply for and gain admission to the Graduate School prior to the fall semester. Please refer to the website below for further instructions on the application process.
